How do I cancel my reservation?

It's important to understand that Cheap-Hotels.com is a price comparison service, and that the actual booking is made through our partner websites like hotels.com and priceline.com. You will not be charged for your entire booked tenure if you cancel your reservation. Every Hotel has a specific cancellation policy and refund of the payment/charges is as per the private policies of the hotel. In order to cancel your reservation, you can contact the Hotel reservation desk or booking company you made the reservation through and quote your name, reservation dates and other necessary details sent to you in the confirmation mail. You can also send in a written cancellation request through fax/email quoting the details.

In case I cancel my reservation, what will be my credit card charged?

There will no charges made to your credit card in case you cancel your reservation a certain number of days before the actual stay dates. The details for the payment shall be mentioned in the Cancellation Policy Section of the Reservation Confirmation from the hotel or booking company. In some cases where an initial deposit has already been collected (which is usually nominal charge), it might be forfeited as a cancellation charge.

What if I do not cancel my reservation and I do not reach my hotel as per my reservation?

The Hotel has a right to apply a no show charge on your credit card if you do not show up on the dates reserved by you and you have not cancelled your reservation. You can contact your credit card company for the details of the charges made to your card as per the policy. For further clarification on the cancellation policy please contact the respective hotel.

What is the usual grace period for cancellation of my reservation at the hotel?

The usual grace period for your cancellation is 2 days. This means that across many hotels, if you cancel your booking 2 days prior to checking in, you will not be charged anything. However the number of days (grace period) and the charge varies from one hotel to another.

How can I modify my reservation?

You can change your reservation by sending a request to your hotel or the booking company either telephonically or via an email. In some cases, you will be asked to cancel your previous booking and make a fresh booking with the hotel. You can do that easily by using cheap-hotels.com the same way as you did before.

Where is the cancellation policy for my hotel?

Every hotel has a distinct cancellation policy which varies from time to time. You can read for the cancellation policy of the hotel from its website or at the booking comapny. You can also call up their reservation desk in case you have any definite questions in your mind.

Do I pay a cancellation fee to cheap-hotels.com?

Cheap-hotels.com does not charge you any sort of reservation or cancellation fee since we are only a price comparison website. Our services are entirely free to our customers. Since the credit card information collected at the time of the reservation is passed on to the preferred Hotel of your stay, it is important that you contact the hotel/booking company and confirm with your hotel for any charges you might incur. You can simply write an email giving your contact details and other information to get a feedback from their end.

How do I know that my booking has been cancelled?

After you have cancelled a reservation, you will be given an acknowledgement usually in the form of an email from the Hotel stating clearly that your reservation made prior for the dates specifies has been cancelled. This email shall also consist of any information about the charges borne by you. In case you do not receive an acknowledgement of your cancellation within 48 hours of your cancellation, please write to the concerned Hotel asking for one.
